Daddy Daughter Dance
So the dress turned out nice my daughter was so happy! This was so fun to make, using my daughter as a dress form, no pattern. I felt like I was on Project Runway: Your challenge is to remake a dress seen in a still shoot from a video and please a preteen girl! I lucked out with my youngest and a pink spring dress that I saved from her sister. But with my oldest turning 11 it was so hard finding something either of us liked at the store. It was all too young looking or too grown up. As she was watching tv one day a Selena Gomez video came on and she wanted her dress. After looking at the dress I decided I could do it but we needed to change the fabric and length for spring and we came up with colors. I added a picture of the inspiration and actual dress.

Ready...Set...Go!
The list is long this week but I think I am up to it. We have valentines done two weeks in advance and Lily's 100 day project has been done for days so I feel a little ahead of the game. The biggest challenge is going to be Claire's dress for the Daddy/Daughter dance (and Easter). She saw a dress on a video and asked if I could make it for her....of course I said I could. However this will be my first non pattern dress with no example to look over closely. YIKES! Sure I have made skirts using another skirt we own as an example, even changed patterns to suit my needs. But I feel I have been watching Project Runway to much and it has rubbed of on me. Oh well, it is just part of my sickness. Wish me luck.
